Cold, wintry winds from the north was to push across the warm waters of the Great Lakes on Monday, triggering lake-effect snowfall across areas of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. The heaviest amounts of snowfall was expected to occur over northern Ohio, southwestern Michigan, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Afternoon temperatures across the Great Lakes were expected to remain cold and range from the 20s to 40s. Lake-effect snowfall was also to reach into portions of the Northeast, and areas of New York and Pennsylvania were expecting significant amounts of snow showers throughout the day.
