Franklin Residents To Keep Fighting CRRA Waste Site

"That was a real disaster last night"

A bill that would have barred the state trash authority from building a waste site in Franklin was dumped minutes before the legislative session ended Wednesday night, but residents of the small town vowed to continue fighting the proposal.

'We're going to keep trucking along, educating ourselves, organizing people to speak out against it and doing what we can,' said Jennifer Muller, a resident who opposes the site in the town of about 1,900 people.

Muller and Tammi Avery, another resident, have been leading a petition drive to block the proposal by Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority. Read more
