2 accused of drag racing on Long Island turnpike
Police say two people have been arrested for drag racing at more than 100 mph in their luxury sports cars on a crowded Long Island turnpike. Nassau County police say they saw a teenage boy driving a 2008 Infiniti and a man behind the wheel of a 2005 Lotus zooming along Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square on Tuesday morning. They say the 17-year-old and the 29-year-old zigzagged through lanes and forced an uninvolved driver to veer off the road and hit a curb. No injuries have been reported.
