By KEZI 9 News Staff November 6, 2008 A DORENA, Ore. -- The Emerald People's Utility District is partnering with the company Symbiotics to build a dam at Dorena Lake.

RAINBOW: The Blue River community gained most of the attention when East Lane Commissioner Faye Stewart held the first of two McKenzie Valley town hall meetings last Thursday. Discussions focused on ways of overcoming legal roadblocks that have constrained development.

Part of the problem, according to Jim Baker of the Blue River Community Development Corp., involves small lot sizes and road right of way impacts. Baker said drain fields for private septic systems take up space that limit the size of existing structures and possible additions. Likewise, the right of way for adjoining streets eats into a lots usability as well.
