Area USFS recreation sites will be upgraded
MCKENZIE BRIDGE: Recrea-tion sites on the McKenzie River Ranger District are slated to get some needed attention soon as a fruit of the Willamette National Forest's Five-Year Recreation Facility Analysis. Bolstering the study is some $4.1 million will be spent on projects at seven forests this year in Oregon and Washington. Another $96 million in Land and Water Conservation Fund receipts will be divvied out nationwide in 2009. In the Forest's Five-Year Plan, enhancements were proposed at 53 sites, mostly toilet replacements (30 plus, with 26 having enhanced accessibility), six site reconstructions were recommended along with three water system upgrades, and various added minor features. Goodbye to a 'nurse's nurse'
