Aaronsburg, PA Divorce Buyout in Pennsylvania

Since 1979 Somerset Mortgage Lenders Co. has been considered a leader in the residential mortgage lending business and is currently licensed in 26 states, including Pennsylvania, offering its expertise in many of the circumstances that life brings to many homeowners.   In most cases Somerset has been able to provide lower payments for the spouse remaining while giving large cash outs to the other. Our Divorce Buyout Loan Specialists work with you to determine how much of a loan you need and what it will cost to refinance.Following is an example of how Divorce Buyout works:

Example: John and Jane own a house valued at $500,000, with a mortgage (or mortgages) that total $300,000.  If you subtract the value from the total loan about ($500,000 - $300,000) you get the equity of the house, in this case $200,000.  If John and Jane split their assets 50-50, each have $100,000 equity in the house.  Therefore, if John wishes to keep the house, he would need to refinance the mortgage(s) with a total loan amount of $400,000 and use the remaining $100,000 to buy out his spouse.

Bonded by brotherhood

"Nothing they do surprises me anymore"

Since Karl Leitzel's brothers joined him in pursuing art on a more serious level, the tone of their Friday family dinners changed. There's a lot less criticism these days, he said.

The three brothers recently decided to have a joint art show, a first for the trio. They hung their pieces in Millheim's Elk Creek CafA© and Aleworks, where they will be displayed until May 4. A 'Meet the Artists' event will take place Sunday.

None of the brothers received formal art training, but artistic expression was part of life growing up in Aaronsburg. Both of the boys' parents were talented at drawing and painting, and Tina, the wife of middle brother, Warren, remembers him as 'the artistic one' in high school. Read more

Storm cuts power, causes crashes

A storm that brought up to 3 inches of snow and sleet to the county also resulted in some slick roads, leading to a crash that knocked out power Friday evening to 150 residences of western Ferguson Township.

No one was injured when a driver lost control of a vehicle on an icy state Route 45, between Tadpole Road and Deibler Road, west of Pine Grove Mills.

The vehicle struck a utility pole, bringing the pole and wires down across the roadway and knocking out power to about 150 households. Read more
