Wartburg, TN FHA Loans in Tennessee

FHA loans differ from conventional loans in a number of ways. The down payment required for an FHA-insured loan is usually much lower than for conventional loans. FHA loans also have lower credit requirements than conventional loans, making them more available to a wider range of potential homebuyers.

FHA loans offer Wartburg, TN residents several other valuable benefits, not least of which is those aforementioned smaller down payments. Unlike a conventional loan, which ordinarily requires 10-20% down, FHA-insured loans only require down payments as low as 3-5%. The FHA is also more flexible in calculating factors to determine whether or not to approve the loan, factors such as household income and repayment ratios.

Tennessee Black Gold: Ready for the Big Boom?
One thing stands out in the hills of Morgan County: Oil wells - in fields, on street corners, in backyards, and in pastures. "They say Morgan County's got the most gas wells that you'll ever see," says local resident Anna Jenkins.

Geologist Gene Lockyear is one person trying to keep those wells going, while also exploring new sources of production. "Geologically, the potential is there," he says, "and it's a matter of getting the economics in line to where we can go for it."

One oil well has been pumping black crude since 1948. "It makes about 2 barrels a day," Lockyear says. The feeling here on the plateau is that Tennessee is ready to increase production, if a major oil company comes in and increases production.
Ninth Judicial Watch: Man Gets 90 Days for Raping 14-Year-Old Step-Daughter
Just how serious is the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl? Opinions will vary. Form your own, and I'll save mine for the blog.

Ninth Judicial District Criminal Court Judge Eugene Eblen has sentenced a man to 90 days in jail, followed by supervised probation for the balance of two years, for the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl who was his stepdaughter.

For the victim, former stepfather Kevin M. Spurling remains a "monster" who continues to haunt her daily thoughts. As a result of the incidents, she went into a deep depression. "I would cut my arms or sides to let out some of my suppressed feelings of hurt," according to her statement.

According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel one person has objected that this sentence is unjust! To Roane County Public Defender Walter Johnson, the judge's decision was too harsh and a likely subject of appeal. Mr. Johnson had requested judicial diversion for his client, which Judge Eblen denied.

One more item: The victim's mother is apparently pleased with the sentence, saying she was surprised that Spurling got jail time.

DAG Russell Johnson said state officials assured him Monday that Spurling is also a candidate for the state's sex-offender registry. Thus, I have no problem with posting his picture here.
